Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior. We understand the unique challenges individuals with ASD face and provide comprehensive support to help them thrive in everyday life.
Behavioral Therapy & Intervention
Evidence-based approaches like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to encourage positive behaviors, build communication skills, and reduce challenges.
Social Skills Development
Structured programs and activities — peer group sessions and one-on-one coaching — to build communication and social interaction skills.
Family Support & Education
Guidance, training, and resources to help caregivers understand ASD, navigate challenges, and provide effective support at home.
Sensory-Friendly Programs
Accommodating sensory sensitivities with safe, comfortable environments where individuals can explore and grow without feeling overwhelmed.

Elderly Care (PAS)
As we age, the need for care and companionship often grows. Our elderly care services are designed to provide the support seniors need to maintain their independence, health, and well-being while fostering meaningful connections — delivered with respect for each individual's dignity.
Assisted Living & Personal Care
Help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, plus medication management — personalized assistance tailored to individual needs.
Memory Care Programs
Specialized support for those living with Alzheimer's or dementia, with safe, structured environments that enhance memory retention and provide reassurance.
Health Monitoring & Wellness
Regular health checks and wellness plans including physical activity, nutrition, and mental health support to maintain a high quality of life.
Companionship & Social Engagement
Fostering connection through engaging conversations, shared activities, and participation in social or recreational programs to combat isolation.
How families choose their providers
In Pennsylvania, Administrative Entities and Supports Coordinators guide families through waiver enrollment and provider selection. You never have to figure it out alone — here is the path for IDD and AAW services.
IDD Services (ODP Waivers)
Waivers such as Consolidated, Community Living, and Person/Family Directed Support (PFDS) are administered by the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP).
- 1
Register with your County Administrative Entity
Contact your county MH/ID office (in our area, the Chester County Department of Human Services) to register and begin the intake and eligibility process.
- 2
Choose your Supports Coordinator
If eligible, you have the right to choose your Supports Coordinator and their Supports Coordination Organization from a state-approved list.
- 3
Build your Individual Support Plan (ISP)
Your Supports Coordinator sits down with you and your family to document goals, needs, and the services that will help you reach them.
- 4
Apply for the right waiver
Your Supports Coordinator helps you apply for the waiver that fits your situation. Waiting lists exist, so registering early matters.
- 5
Select your service providers
Together with your Supports Coordinator, interview and choose providers for each service in your plan — including traditional or participant-directed options. Companion America can be part of that plan.
Adult Autism Waiver (AAW)
The AAW is a 1915(c) Medicaid waiver serving adults age 21 or older with autism spectrum disorder, tailored to community living.
- 1
Register with your county MH/ID office
If you are not yet registered, contact your county office and make an appointment to register for supports or services.
- 2
Request the AAW application
Apply through the Bureau of Supports for Autism and Special Populations by calling 1-866-539-7689, or online via the state's application portal.
- 3
Complete eligibility reviews
The application includes a functional eligibility assessment and a financial eligibility (Medical Assistance) review.
- 4
Receive supports coordination
Once enrolled, a Supports Coordinator helps you develop your Individual Service Plan around your goals and daily life.
- 5
Choose your providers
Browse the Services & Supports Directory on COMPASS or MyODP to find qualified providers for each service — and invite Companion America to support your plan.
